I am currently running a TrueNAS home server on a spare Dell OptiPlex 780 PC. It is only has a two core CPU and 8 GB of RAM. It is utilizing two 1 TB hard drives in RAID1. It is just running a Teamspeak server at the moment, but more work will be done with it in the future. The current set-up is mostly for personal projects and experimentation. It is fairly limited due to the lack of virtualization support with the hardware. Eventually, the machine will be migrated to a different, more powerful machine that can handle Plex streaming w/ hardware encoding, PC back-ups, etc.
